The moment prey surrenders not out of fear but out of conduct of the Absolute, it becomes dangerous for the predator.
Meaning
The clarity of the verse seems almost cruel at first. It implies that balanced romantic love is uncommon. When two people seem to be very close, one is typically enjoying the warmth of love, approval, or desire while the other—quietly, perhaps heroically—is carrying a secret burden: unfulfilled desires, words that have been swallowed, dreams that have been put off, or the gradual deterioration of oneself. The quiet suffering of one subtly supports the joy of the other. According to this perspective, love is a seesaw that rarely remains level for very long rather than a perfect equilibrium.
